Ahmedabad:At present, the assembly elections in Gujarat have got lost. BJP and Congress are making efforts to please the Patidars. Before the Gujarat assembly elections, the OBC Commissionof Gujarat (OBC states’ recommendation for the backward and backward classes) is getting information about the backwardness of 27 ethnicgroups, including the Patidars.

The commission, led by former Gujarat High Court judge Suganya Bhatt, has received requestsfor OBC states through 28 communities and groups. There are several Patidar organizations, including the Patidar Sangathan SPG under the leadership of Lalji Patel.It is noteworthy that the Hardik and Patidar Reservation Committee started the SPG movement before it started the agitation. The applications that have been received by the OBC Commission include 1.5 lakh families of the state.

According to the Supreme Court’s guidelines, the commission will now do the Door to Door Survey in the coming days and will take care that no one of these families is left out. In order to start the survey, Kamish had asked a price list from the relevant agencies in May, who had 3 years of experience in such work, and the agencies were called.However, the commission did not make any statement on this, but according to sources, the commission has shortlisted agencies and after completion of the assembly elections, it will be given a green signal to start the work.

lalji-patel-lRegarding this, Lalji Patel said that many organizations of our Patidar Sanghas have made requests for OBC status requests before the Commission. In Gujarat 146 communities are eligible for reservation in government jobs and educational institutions under the OBC category. Last year, Rajagore was included in this list.
